is a Scottish film, television, and theatre actor. He is best known for his role as Ian Murray in the Starz television series Outlander.[1] His other work includes the films Brave, 300: Rise of an Empire, Maleficent, 51 Degrees North, Churchill, and the TV series Lip Service.[2] Cree was born in Kilmarnock, East Ayershire, Scotland in 1980, the son of a local kitchen and bathroom fitter.[3] Upon completion of Secondary School, he attended Langside College in Glasgow for a year before applying, and being accepted to, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). In his final year at RSAMD, he was signed by a London Talent agent and moved to the city after completing school.[2]
